Our bed and breakfast near Stratford, Ontario, Canada is 10 min from the Stratford Festival, 30 min from the Grand Bend Playhouse and 50 min from the Blyth Festival. We offer a country bed and breakfast experience in a century stone house. Guests have use of a parlour, dining room and a large screened porch as well as a small stocked refrigerator. Juice, soft drinks and bottled water are supplied. Satellite TV, VCR and stereo are available in the parlour. Accommodations are in spacious rooms furnished with Canadian antiques gathered from local auctions . All rooms have either king, or two beds. Two rooms have ensuites and two rooms have a shared bath. A full complementary breakfast is included and is served in our screened-in porch overlooking our gardens when weather is suitable. On cooler mornings the dining room is used. Fieldstone Farm is also a working farm and orchard, certified organic by OCPP.. We grow most of our own fruit and vegetables and raise chickens, eggs, pork and beef. We also sell organic beef and pork as well as squash, sweet corn, and sunflower oil. Whenever possible our breakfast includes our own produce. As well as the local theatres, other attractions include antique and craft shops, local farm auctions, walking trails. There are about 4 km of marked walking trails, much of them wooded. There are also local hiking associations that offer beautiful marked trails. Two bicycles are available free of charge [bring your own helmet]. We are very close to Amish and Mennonite country. The town of St. Jacobs is only 35 minutes away. During the week in the off-season golf specials are available at River Valley Golf. There are many fine restaurants in the area offering a wide range of foods. Sydney is an active Australian Shepherd who will greet you when you arrive. She loves to play soccer and go for walks with the guests. We have several outdoors cats and kittens but Gerry is our special pet and is allowed into the host part of the house on wet or cool nights. He doesn't seem to have any luck catching birds! Air conditioned, ceiling fans, smoke-free (sheltered outdoor smoking). The main season is from April to November.
